Reflections is a National PTA arts program that asks children to get creative! Students are invited to create works of art in six different arts categories, reflecting upon a different theme each year. The six arts categories are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. The theme for the 2016-2017 school year is "What Is Your Story?"
Students can create as many projects as they like, in as many arts categories as they like. Projects must be turned in to the school office no later than November 1, 2016. Selected projects may advance through a judging system to council, district, region, state and national levels of the program.
Ready to get started? Please review the rules below. There are general rules and also specific rules for each art category. Please have your student complete a student entry form for each project. Be sure the entry form is complete and includes a title, artist statement, student signature and parent signature.
Remember, the point is to have fun while being creative! All students who submit a Reflections entry will be recognized with a certificate. We love to see the creativity and talent of our MJ students!
